Each “Kakaritsukeyu” has an onsen (“Japanese hot spring”) but otherwise has distinctive characteristics. For example, some facilities offer their health promoting programs by making use of onsen and serve excellent meals, though they may seem a bit pricy.
Furthermore some facilities prepare meals closely with various ideas according to the customers’ medical or other special dietary requirements.
On the other hand at some facilities meals are basically optional (i.e. if only requested.) and even you may be expected to pull out and put up your own futon, which will reduce the cost of your stay.
There is one facility where you can rent a private house for a week, and at another you can enjoy a walk to the places which are associated with a famous Japanese novelist, Yasushi Inoue.
However “Kakaritsukeyu” have two things in common.
One is that they have high standards for their onsens. Therefore they thoroughly disclose information about their hot springs and sanitary conditions: whether the onsen’s water is recycled or not; whether it is artificially heated or not; whether ordinary water is added or not and so on.
Another is that they have their unique services that satisfy different wants and needs of the customers. Some facilities take close care of them and pay attention to every detail, while others just offer simple services and try to stay out of the customers’ way. Each facility worked out its unique service by making the most of what it has and tries to offer its customers a unique experience unavailable elsewhere

A program for promoting health that includes the use of onsen is available. Customers can benefit from specialists such as balneotherapists or instructors in the effective use of onsen for health.
MEALS (healthy meals)
Taking a customer’s health condition such as diabetes or allergy to some foods into consideration, some facilities are prepared to serve meals with the special dietary needs if asked to do so in advance. And the calories, salt content, seasoning and other ingredients of each dish are also shown with its quantity.
HEALING (various healing services)
Besides an onsen health program, different kinds of healing services are offered. There may be a walking course around monuments in memory of writers or some sports facilities attached to “Kakaritukeyu”. “Kakaritukeyu” covers a wide variety of fantastic recreational activities.
